Hot Rat Summer

Hot Rat Summer is a series of public works projects in Seattle, WA by the trans art collective, The Queer Agenda Dot Gay. Hot Rat Summer is most famous for it’s guerrilla mosaic installations, and for reclaiming and transforming city spaces to highlight trans joy and resilience.

History

Hot Rat Summer began as a curated large scale guerrilla art exhibition that transformed Cal Anderson Park overnight on August 8, 2024. The park featured the work of dozens of trans artists, including the anonymous Hot Rat Summer mosaic artist.

Our art was covered locally by Capitol Hill Art Walk and Capitol Hill Seattle in August 2024. By February 2025, we went on to capture national media attention with a 10 page feature in FANE magazine.
