What is tattoo token?
In the art and tattoo community, a tattoo token is a paid token/permission purchased from an original artist. It grants the buyer legal permission to use the artist's pre-existing artwork as a personal tattoo. It compensates the artist for their intellectual property and gives your tattoo artist official authorization to ink it. In tattoo ethics, tattoo artists will typically refuse to tattoo another artist’s design without explicit permission or tattoo token from the artist who created the artwork.
In the case of the Hot Rat Summer mosaic artist, all money from tattoo tokens purchased fund our ongoing community art projects.
